So this is it! Day 1 of Microsoft Tech·Ed 2006.
And as if to mark the day, the weather has finally decided to show itself from the good side. Although it has been overacst and raining the last few days, the sun came out this morning, providing the perfect setting for a week's worth of high quality technical training, networking and (of course) partying!

In Windows Vista, Microsoft has combined the previously separate firewall and IPSec functionality into one product: Windows Firewall. This brings together the two most important aspects of network security into one central place.
